I like them both but I must say my artichoke recipe is wonderful --it was my mom's.
I am talking about the whole artichoke--not just the heart. I trim off the stem -- and wash the leaves--trim off the pinchy tops of the leaves. I then make a stuffing with Progresso Italian breadcrumbs -- garlic ( put through a press) onion minced, a little olive oil, Parmesan cheese , a little water, mix this up and stuff it between the artichoke leaves as much as you can. Then place them in a dutch oven with about 1 1/2 inches of water on the bottom simmering . Simmer covered for one hour --checking to make sure the water is not all gone. You may already know how to eat the leaves--pull them out and just scraping the soft end of the leaf. The stuffing and the heart are the best part though. They are sooo good . It is something I grew up eating ( I am Italian too) so it is not an unusual dish to me--as it may be to some.

God that is so hard. I love them both so much. If I had only one in the world left I guess I would pick asparagus or maybe artichokes. Boy, this is a very decision!!

Asparagus!

To cook asparagus properly, place a tablespoon of butter into a pan, turn the heat up to medium high. When the butter melts, place the asparagus in, put on the lid, let cook for 3 minutes then turn off heat completely and do NOT open the lid for 10 minutes!
