ok, my friend is totally obsessed with fashion... she talks about it 24/7 and nobody in my group really likes her anymore cos she never shuts up about it. anyway, she's completely fixated on becoming a supermodel but she is REALLY UGLY and it would be impossible for her to make it to the big-time! but cos she "knows" she's going to be one, she doesn't really try hard in school and stuff. i don't want her to throw her life away before someone finally tells her that she isn't model material plus she would be devastated. should i tell her the truth or just keep quiet?? there would probably be a fight between us then but would it be better in the long term???

Why don't you find out if any department stores or agencies in your area are looking for new fresh faces and get your friend to go sign up with you, let them break it to her that she isn't model material and then you be the good friend that you are and be there to comfort her when her dreams are crushed, and if they are interested in signing her be there for her too.

Let your friend follow her dreams... how would you like it if you had a huge dream and someone blew it up in your face by saying something mean to you?
Your friend just may have a good chance at being a model, if she is bulit for it... I have noticed on that model reality show, there are plenty of girls who aren't very attractive without their makeup.
Looks aren't everything either.
If you are annoyed about talking fashion all of the time, change the subject... but DO talk with her about it sometimes. OR if you are completely disgusted with her, break off the friendship, without being mean to her.
Everyone has FEELINGS.

She has a future dream, and no one should tear her dream apart. In fact you should encourage her as a friend. Things may change in her favor such as, getting cosmetic surgery, and if she needs to loose weight, she could diet.
A person who is not automatically model material can change their position. Imagine if she become a super model. She may look back and be gracious that you gave her encouragement and you stood in her corner as a good supporting friend. Let her dream march on...God bless.
