Some really great vampire books...
The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice - there old school vampire books, but they're still great
Dracula by Bram Stroker - original and timeless...you've got to read the book that started them all
Rulers of Darkness by Steven Sprill - his vamps are called Hemophages, but the concept is the same and the storyline is incredible
The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon - the good guys are the vamps, uber-sexy and easy reading
Lynsay Sands and Katie MacAlister both have vamp series that are sexy and laugh-out-loud funny, but I can't remember the titles right now.
Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden Files is actually about a wizard, but the further you get into the series the more it has to do with vamps (as the side kicks) but still definitely worth the read.
Jemiah Jefferson's Wounds is the first book in a 4 part series. The series as a whole is quite a bit darker than any of the other books out there. Much more Gothic and twisted.
Angela Knight's vamps are the Knights of the Round Table...incredibly original idea behind the vampire legend. Her books are definitely rated a hard R, so avoid them if your underage.
MaryJanice Davidson's Undead series is funny and light. Her main character, Betsy is the Queen of the Vampires and has a designer shoe fetish...
Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series is pretty good. The vamps are sexy and Sookie's an interesting person.
Christine Feehan's Carpathian series is about vamps. I don't like it very much, but a lot of people I know rave about how good they are.

Raven Hart, shes a sparkling author yet somewhat good. Her series is like 5 books long. Ann Rice remains a classic vampire author with Queen of the Damned. genuine Blood author Charlaine Harris is the terrific i could advise. I examine all like 8 or 9 books and that they have what your finding for. the books are far extra useful than the prepare. i promise. different than that, the authors are regrettably youthful objective audience "aimed". there is the evening worldwide series and Vampire Diaries to boot, although the latter is for "youthful person" not in easy terms young ones.

"Sunshine" by Robin McKinley. It's sort of a fantasy--the setting is a world very much like ours, except for the existence of "Others"--vampires, weres, demons, magic users, etc.
Great book. I've reread it several times.
Warning: It has some adult themes and language, so if you're younger, you might want to look for something else.

There's a very well done vampire novel out there that many people don't know about. It's called "Sunshine" by Robin McKinley. Very interesting, and the author keeps you hooked.

The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice ... or what about the classics, like Bram Stoker's "Dracula" or "Carmilla" by Sheridan Le Fanu?

Any of Christina Feehan's "DARK" series. Great vamps and some rather steamy love scenes.
