There are no "permanent" bases. Bases can be closed very easily. Some of these "permanent" bases have been turned over to the Iraqis. The permanent base thing is just a talking point for left organizations.
There is no comparision with Isreal in this. Iraq is a country Palastine is not. Iraqi's govern themselves, poorly, but they still govern themselves. Also, you have 3 ethinc groups backed by different countries, not one group. They are still more apt to kill eachother then the US. It will be spomething different.
So, no. It wont. You made a bad comparision.
