Typically "Country Club Attire" means slacks and a collared shirt. Sneakers, jeans, shorts, tank tops, etc. are not usually permissable. Like a previous user recommended, I would call the particular country club to confirm their attire requirements as some are more lax than others.

That's actually a good question. I guess it depends on the place. Some may require no skin showing, no short mini-skirts (the ones were all it takes is a glance for you to see what's underneath), and a few other things.

As I don't go to clubs/bars, I really can't say. Dress comfortably is all I can say.

I live outside D.C. and around here it means no Timberlands in some places. No sneakers. A nice pair of jeans and a decent shirt (not a tshirt). Some nice shoes. Not dress shoes, but chukkas or something. It kinda depends on what area you're in.

It all depends on the place. At minimum, it means, no jeans and no t-shirts. You should really call and ask, what is "proper attire" for the particular establishment. It could mean anything at all.

It means no open-toed shoes or tank tops. There s a club in my town that allows casual, but no athletic wear or hats.
