I'm with Kitty on this one. I have no problem with downloading music as long as it's paid for. It's interesting how many of the younger people think it ought to be "legal" and "free". It's amazing what these kids don't get. I am a musician. I have written original music that belongs to me. Why should anyone have a right to what I own - for free. Nothing works that way in this world ... and when it does we call it STEALING.

Think about this ... should people be able to go into a department store or music store and take whatever they want for free? Seriously? There is NO difference whatsoever. None. The work belongs to the artists - they wrote it or recorded it - and they deserve the royalties. Same goes for all the pirated movies you can get off the internet. It's illegal. I wonder how these people saying "free" would feel if people just started taking things that belonged to them ... that they created or bought. They'd be the first ones to scream "thief! thief!" I cracked up when the gal above said "What's a couple $1000 dollars to them anyways?" It's easy to say such things when it's not your money, isn't it?

I now know of 4 people who have been busted for stealing music over the internet and 2 of them were arrested. They were all fined a minimum of $500.00 as well. Is that really worth it? Not in my book. The line between right and wrong becomes more and more blurred for young people to day .. and this is a prime example.

Remember the saying "Do unto others as you would have done unto you?" We outta start taking that more seriously and rethinking what is truly right and wrong before the line becomes so blurred it won't matter for any of us anymore ... at all.

Well the music is copy righted and they go through extensive, time and painstaking work to get it all published, produced recorded and soooooo much that it should not ever really be replicated on to another medium.

I don't really agree with monopoly but then again I don't agree with stealing. We were supposed to have learned these values long ago.

And I do think a person should be able to d/l music for a fee. What we are really looking for is to be lazy and get a lot. As well as we pay for what we're getting, I'm all for it. ; ]

I think it should be legal because even if it was illegal, people would still do it anyway millions of people do it now and it is illegal....so then if we made it legal then our government could focus on more important things like maybe....hmmm............IRAQ!!!!.
