Just because he used drugs at one point doesn't make him a cheat...and that fight has nothing to do with it either.

Maradona was the TRUE god of soccer, not Pele.

Hand of God. Do i need to say more or are you that stupid in football history.

Some people will justify it somehow - but my philosphy is - if you blatantly cheat - and know that you have cheated - to win a world cup - then basically you are a cheater. Maybe he didn't know that he deliberatly thrust out his hand, palmed the ball past the keeper and claimed the goal. I am not English, but if it had happened against any other team - the only ones who would cheer and accept the goal were the people from that country. Yes he scored a good goal after - but so what - he cheated, the game complection changed.

Jealousy. The dude scores a goal with his hand and he's called a cheat. Get mad at the ref, not Maradonna! Here's something for all you English Limey Maradonna haters: You all cheated at the 1966 World Cup when the goal was allowed vs West Germany, even though the ball clearly did not go over the line. So the English should have looked at the replay and taken the goal away. Like that wass ever going to happen! The guy's not a cheat, just the benefactor of a bad referee. Put that into yer fish n chips and eat it!

By the way, Pele was better than Maradonna...though both are the 2 greatest ever.

He had no education that's why he used drugs and went to all those troubles and he is a cheater cause he used his hands to score but I don't really care about him. There are plenty of great players right now who are better than both Pele and Maradona.

No, it is not fair. Messi is a great player, one of the best of the world. And Maradona is not a cheat, he was a wonderful player who scored beautiful goals, like the second one for Argentina against England in 1986...

I agree that Maradona was arguably the best player ever to grace a football pitch but to call a cocaine snorting, press shooting idiot a GOD is going too far. his activities off the field make him a terrible role model to follow...unlike the other great you mentioned Pele!!

playmaker1717.. I'm sure you are an englard/brazilian or just a dumbass brainwashed by the medias... you only heard in your life Maradona was a cheat for having commited the "hand of god"... bla bla bla.. instead of the miracles he made with the ball... he helped Napoli (poor team in those days) into becoming champion several times...

Because they never had anybody even close to his talents. And the British, cheating more than half of the world in real life, have the nerve to call somebody a cheat? If people didn't kicking them out of all those places, they'd be still cheating. And ALL the players try to cheat, sometime they can, sometimes they can't. Everybody who fakes a fall or everybody who hold an opponent, is cheating. If they don't know how to do it, they get caught.
