you distribute first
2m + 2 + 3 = 5m - 10
2m + 5 = 5m -10
Get like terms on each side of the = sign
2m-2m + 5+10 = 5m-2m -10 +10
divide each side by 3 to get the m alone.
15 = 3m
5 = m
hope this helps

2(m+1)+3=(m-2)5
2*m=2m, 2*1=2
2m+2+3=(m-2)5
5*m=5m, 5*2=10
2m+2+3=5m-10
then add: -2 and -3 and-5m to both parts
-2+-3+-5m+2m+2+3=-2+-3+-5m+5m-10
then cross out the same values
5m+2m=-2+-3+10
now add
7m=5
now divide both by first part answer
7m/7m=1=5/7=0.714285 w/ the little line on top of 285 to show its a repeating num
m=0.714285
i am the only one correct because you cannot add two different values togethor. for ex can you add two bannanas and a cookie. no, if yes what would it be 3 bankies see what i am saying

2m+2+3 = 5m - 10, then you get 2m + 5 = 5m - 10, then you bring m's on one side, 5m-2m = 5 + 10 , therefore 3m = 15 so m=5
