Yeah her name is La Llorona, and it is a old spanish tale about a lady who drowns her kids out of jealousy. Check this website out and it will give you all the versions of it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Llorona
None of it is true, its just an urban legend.

The weeping woman, or most commonly known as "La llorona" has latin american roots. They do vary in how it happened, but the basic story is the same. Its about a woman who looses her child and cries about it and she tries to steal other woman's children. Maybe you can talk about how the story differs from country to country. I believe Mexico has different set of stories depending on their region. Look it up and good luck.
