I live in NC and there are lots of them here.I took up carving and painting them this year, and I guess I'm more aware of em now.
I also remember seeing them on relatives' farms when I was a kid.

I would have them in my yard in a heart beat if I could find them or find the seeds to grow them so that I could make my own. Some how or the other I manage to get the wrong seeds to grow the ones that I need. But I am still looking as they are so pretty hanging in the yard. Plus that is also a very good gift to give at Christmas time to bird lovers.

I love them too! I haven't grown any gourds for a couple of years, but I do enjoy using them for bird houses and have also painted some for decorations for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I am looking to purchase some unique seeds to grow in my garden next year. Gourd lovers unite! :))

No, but I have 5 hummingbird feeders...we have lots of green breasted humming birds with red faces....these are aggressive little birds...they get right up in your face and raise hell with you if you get too close to them. You would not believe how small their nests are! The eggs are the size of med capsules.
