7 squared (or to the 2nd power) is 49.

It is just 49
There isn't really a standard form until you have an equation. But 49 is the simpliest form.

To write in "standard" form just means to simply so that the number appears in the "preferred way", a number without exponents is generally preferred to one with exponents so just convert the problem to a regular number. 7^2 = 49.
