I learned to be open to new experiences. I also learned not to judge what I didn't know. Both have served me very well as an adult.

When I was in university (sorry not college) the best things I learned were:
-How to truly observe and not just "watch" - there is a big difference!
-How to teach myself the lessons I was being shown and how to truly take the lessons within myself and learn them inside and out
-How to be a truly good student out of self respect and self discipline not just for class but for all of my life (because all of life is a classroom and life is my teacher)
-How to filter what is useful and what is rubbish - called discernment.
-What knowledge is esoteric and what knowledge is practical and when it is appropriate to apply each type of knowledge to any given situation or experience.

I learned how to think independently and challenge dogma. I learned stand up for what I believed and how difficult it was to find true friendship. I became an explorer of the world around me and all its people.

I learned that there is a lot of "gray" area in the world, as opposed to everything being either black or white. That was a very widening experience.

Don't overload yourself with too many difficult subjects.
A teacher can make you or break you.
Try not to make waves.
Don't ever think you can't get it, some of us are just slower, but we do eventually get it.
No answer is ALL or Never.
Some people are just lousy test takers and actually do "freeze up", including myself.
Don't take yourself too serious.
Take time to smell the roses.

I learned that friends can get jealous and turn out to be mean. I learned to go to every class and made sure the teacher knew who I was.

Ask questions. Ask for feedback. So many of us make decisions in a vacuum of knowledge. The absence of information in general is very hurtful for most people.

It's just like regular school except you have to pay for it. Also, forget it if you have a jealous guy. He'll think you're just taking classes to hook up instead of that that you are trying to get smarter so he doesn't keep treating you like you are retarded..
Thanks to the jerk I'm $20,000 in the hole.

Pleasing the professor is more important than being intelligent. Or maybe, pleasing the professor IS being intelligent.
