A rich man is somebody you only hear about, but never gets the chance to meet face-to-face. He is someone you are familiar with because you savor stories and tidbits about him. And all stories about these men is about new acquisitions or businesses unloaded, fabulous or eccentric lifestyles, or their philantropy.
Everyone else is a poor man, despite all their protestations.
On another plane, some people say they are are content and happy with their family, - - - couldn't ask for more - - - and therefore are the richest men in the world.
Then there are those we call "poor little rich...."
Depends on which perspective you want to take.

A person is known by the company he keeps. There is wealth of material and of spirit. Work like you don't need the money. This applies to wealthy and the poor. The ones you see at the beach are wealthy or poor. Both enjoying and living life. If you resent the rich, you will never be.

you can be rich by your own, to be a winner by having friends and being down to earth.
in a physical way, nowadays, you cannot already tell if that person is whether rich or poor...there are those person who are pretending to be rich, wearing some elegant dresses that is even borrowed maybe from their friends where in fact, he/she cannot already raise his self/family for being poor. the same through with the rich people, some dressed their self just simple as they can be, a humble person indeed.
however, if you are wearing elegant dresses (as like as what have i said), precious earings, expensive accesories and shoes, riding on a nice car, and always spraying yourself a smelly cologne, then you are rich but if and when you are just dressed simple, cannot eat three times a day and cannot afford to buy all your wants and what your needs are, perhaps your called - poor man.

A happy man is a rich man, no matter how much wealth he possesses.
But if you were wondering...like...physically...Hahaha, what kind of question is this?!?!
Well I guess you could tell from his clothes, if they're well-tailored and new, he's rich, if they're shabby then he's poor...
I also think someone told me you can tell from their shoes if they were rich or not...Shiny, good shoes = rich, Bad/Old shoes = poor...

A hereditarily rich man will appear to be quite simply dressed, and never try to draw public attention to himself - because he doesn't need to flaunt his assets.
A newly rich man, on the other hand, will dress flashily and keep spending lavishly in public - to prove that he is now financially well off !
A poor, but self-respecting, person will dress in clean but simple clothes, and spend his hard-earned money sparingly on necessities - to ensure that no one can realise his poverty and offer sympathy...
And a man who appears poor by choice (!) will wear only visibly torn and unclean clothes, and exhibit a perennially sullen look - to make sure that those around him notice his poverty, and keep on doling out food, and/or funds !...

By his ease and casualness in any environment and least of all by not over dressing for the occasion.
Just as an after thought. . . .If the man wears a belt with his pants, check that for quality because men don't have a multitude of belts and a well off person will usually by expensive good quality belts!

some look rich (by their designer clothes and flashy cars) but are actually neck-deep in debt.
some look plain (old flip-flops, worn-out porontong and company give-away shirts) but actually have a high net asset.
so, who cares who's rich, who's poor?
i'm more interested in spotting who's the snatcher mingling in the crowd
