This question has a bit of an ignorant tone. Furthermore, civil law and criminal law are separate and different systems. The reason is because sometimes it is justifiable to seek damages due to negligence of a sort that is not considered (nor should it be) a crime. Ex. It is not a crime to accidentally place faulty brakes on a vehicle, but it is a negligent act that often results in death or serious injury that might otherwise not have happened without the negligency in the first place. Such a situtation (especially when resulting in death) deserves some sort of compensation in order for justice to be properly served. This an example of how civil suit can be brought against something that is not a crime (which is the same thing as something found not to be a crime).

Maybe if people, especially the media, ignore Sharpton's rhetoric and that of Jessie Jackson, they would go away. They seem to thrive on all the attention and money they get for being in the spotlight.

Al Sharpton's racism does everyone a disservice regardless of race. He creates racial tension where there was none before. It's sad that he doesn't use his celebrity to fix the legitimate racial issues that unfortunately still remain.

That will not happen because Al Sharpton is racist to the bone.

If you're referring to the recent Bill O'Reilley and Al Sharpton, you must know that this is not his first his first offense. He needs to learn to keep his mouth shut.
