A lot of the right wing takes on a martyr complex, complaining that they somehow don't have the power or voice of "the left," despite that we've had a Republican president for almost 7 years and had a strongly Republican Congress from 1996-2006. They aren't willing to admit that the media is slanted toward whatever gets ratings, NOT any one political bias. If they were, neither the Monica Lewinsky scandal nor the Swift Boat lies would have gotten the press they did.

Hey Jersey Girl,
Do some research... The media isn't owned by leftists, they're owned by giant corporations and billionaires. News Corp, Clear Channel, Viacom, GE, Disney... These corps own the major stations and you want to say they're leftists?
Further, research from places like Pew and FAIR show that the media ISN'T left of public views, but rather centrist.
The fact of the matter is that right wing talk radio hosts, Bill O and other Fox Pundits love to rip columnists in newspapers for espousing leftist views, but leave the righties alone (all papers have both right and left columnists). This has caused public perception to believe the media is leftist, despite the research.
To add to this, there is only one answer to Bill O, Hannety, Beck, etc on tv today and that's Olberman. To say the media is leftist is just ridiculous.

He's just telling the truth. The media on most television stations is very far to the left in their views, so are most newspapers. There is no denying it; the liberals are proud of it. Most programming is owned by left believing people. Fox News is more fair in that they give both sides of issues. Bill O'Reilly is not so much far right but is more moderate. He has views which are different than very conservative thinking personalities. He says he is #1 during his time slot because he is #1 in the rating polls. He also has a highly rated radio show, as you indicate but, when you look at all the stats and see what views the papers, TV and radio exhibit, you will see that O'Reilly is right on. He is not saying that his voice doesn't get out, he is saying that his views are not put out for public consumption as much as the liberal views of the majority and he is correct.

Bill O'Reilly and all the other right-wingers are paranoid. They are deathly afraid of alternate voices out there. O'Reilly pounds his ratings because he's such an insecure bag o'slop. He has to convince himself that people like him and hate his "enemies." It's sad, really.

Well my guess would be that the media in this country pretty much tots the socialist line. AKA the democratic party.

I can't help but to point out that the media slightly to the right of the "middle" is still the "far left" to our friend Bill.
