Try these:
1. The card usually has a 4 pin molex power connector at the rear. Connect it to a line to the power supply with no other device on that line. You may have to disable a device or fan temporarily to see if it is electric current supply issues.
2. Try also reinstalling the driver but with all startups temporarily disabled during the installation process.

Didst thou......remove the vid card? The Geforce, then reboot the computer,(restart), and remove the Geforce drivers from Add/Remove Programs, also go to Windows Explorer,(assuming we're talkin' Windows XP), (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Windows Explorer) In Windows Explorer, go to My Computer>Local Disk (C:), Programs, and delete anything to do with Geforce. Then crazy as it sounds re-install the drivers from the cd again, power down the computer. re-install the Geforce card. Does it come up with the New Hardware 'bubble' at the bottom now, meaning it recognizes the vid card? Windows is a funny animal, installing the vid card, before installing the Geforce drivers will cause a 'conflict'. Windows 'sees' the vid card, and try's to match a 'generic' driver with it. No good!

The graphics card isn't getting enough power I think. The video card might have came with a small power cable. This MUST be installed. Its simple to install, just plug it into the graphics card and then plug it into a wire hanging out from the power supply. If it didn't come with one, then try reading the manuals for more help.

You can also try going into safe mode to turn down the resolution.

Best of luck!

well you could upgrade your proccesor and motherboard to fit the requirements. you might have installed it wrong or something. try putting the other card in and seeing what happens.
