you see, the reason im asking this is because my friend is having a birthday party and hes in viting me this girl i really like and a couple other people. I want to see a scary movie because i can sit next to the girl i like and she will be scared and u know, hide behind me b/c shes scared. any advice??

...if I recall correctly, the U.S. remake of the Japanese film, "The Ring", as well the Wes Craven produced werewolf film, "Cursed", and the Sam Raimi produced film, "Boogeyman", are all rated PG-13...

Although you will be hard to find recent theatrical horrors with less than an R rating, there are plenty goods ones that came out this year that are now available of DVD.
The Messengers is a silly motion picture but it is surprisingly very entertaining, suspenseful and -- at times -- creepy.
Disturbia is more of a thriller than a horror but I definitely recommend it. It is the only movie to snag the top spot at the box office two weeks in a row so far this year.
Both movies are rated PG-13. Enjoy the party!
