I am 12 and I started my period on July 13th this year, when do you think that I should start wearing tampons?

Anytime is fine. I highly recommend Tampax SLENDER regular to begin with. Usually periods are light the first day or so, so the slender regular should be fine and then I'd move up to the regular. Get both actually.
And from my own personal experience don't ever by generic tampons or pads. But especially tampons. Kotex is a good product too. Stick with something simple. That Tampax pearl doesn't work like it says it does so stay away from that. For now, just stick with the tried and true and when you are more comfortable with using them then you can try different products, but never get anything with perfume in it. Some tampons actually come scented..ewwwwwwwww
You might have to fuss around a bit at first, but that's normal too. Just be sure that the applicator slides all the way back before inserting the tampon if you have to force it then pull back and try again. It does take practice.
And using tampons does not effect your virginity. If you go with the extra super duper large, well then maybe yeah but at your age regular should be just fine.

I agree that this is something you should discuss with your mom. For the first year or few years, your cycle may not be regular so you may not want to wear a tampon all the time. Make sure to read and follow the directions and don't wear them longer than reccomended or over night, this can cause serious problems.

A lot of people will/or might say that you should wear it when you lose your virginity.
BUT I think that when your hymen breaks, thats the perfect time to wear a tampon because if your hymen is still UNbroken, that its going to hurt if you try to insert a tampon.

It's a personal choice. If you're old enough to have a period, you're old enough to wear tampons.

personally, stay away from tampons. A friend of mine had severe infections due to the bacteria left from the tampon. REALLY gross.......

It's all up to you! (And your mom, too...)
I personally recommend waiting for a full year so your cycle can balance out.

im 13
i only wear them for swimming or when i wear pants that you could see like the pad lines. but i normally wear pads..

When ever you can comfortably use them and no, it's not any of your mother's business or choice. It's your body.
