why on earth to people treat pets better than kids?

I suppose it is because it is easier to get your dog to sit , than it is to be a Parent ....maybe that is why they started putting children on leashes , and build parks for dogs....

I love my dog , she is a great animal , she is an American Pit Bull Terrier , the best dog ever ....BUT I love my Children way more than the dog , as much as I love that dog , I would kill the d@mn thing before I would allow any harm to come to my Children , nothing comes before my children , nothing at all...

Even when we go out to eat , the children eat first , and the dog has to wait for her crab legs , or Chic-Fil -A sandwich ...A dog will never eat before the humans eat in my house...A pet is a pet , nothing more , it is not a family member ....it is not married in to the family , and it is not blood related....I will never understand why people do this , or how you can get more time in jail for beating a d@mn dog than you do for hitting a child..
I guess society is going backwards , upside down , or another way besides the way it is supposed to go ..

Obsess over pets & just can't get there hands off them.I was in the store today and this lady had a dog with her,she was talking to another lady and her whole conversation was about her dog ginger.But,Some people treat the pets & there children the same way.You may love both of them but at least treat them both the same,as the kids..a better way as if they were a human being and not a pet.Buh-Bye!

I believe Keanu Reeve's character said it best in the movie "Parenthood." "You need a license to get a dog but any butt reaming a**h*** can have a kid."

That's the truth of it. People choose to have pets. They don't always choose to have kids, or they choose to have them for the wrong reason. I wish I had a dollar for every time I have been told by some 14-year-old that she wants a baby because it's just like a doll, only it loves you back. Telling them that it's a doll which requires a lot of work doesn't do any good. And it isn't just 14-year-olds. People where I live are absolutely intoxicated by babies. It's very common to hear someone saying they are going off their birth control because they "love babies" so much, and just really want to have another one. They don't seem to understand that that baby turns into a child, and brings with it, at the very minimum, an 18 year commitment, and ideally, a life-long one.

It makes me sick. It really does. And it makes me very, very angry.

I would say that given a choice of spending an evening with some kids, or some ones pet, I'll take the pet. The pet is loving, appreciative, and happy to see you. Kids on the other hand are disrespectful, and only want money.....

Because pets are easier to control, less work and in general maintain a consistent good-natured mood. You don't need to spend years nursing them, changing them, and cuddling them only to have them turn on you and treat you like you're stupid.

Pets need more babying than most kids, and they give more of themselves in return. Also, they rarely bite the hand that feeds them.

Not everyone does. We all do at our house. And yes, just like kids they talk back. Maybe they just don't speak or understand their pets.

becuse they dont answer back they do what u tell them to do there more kind if ur ur ther owner and they dont cmplain like me or talk back like some kids do that and dogs are like ok ill go do it
