Many of us in America are concerned about the situation of Burma, and we hope that it works out peacefully with an end to the military dictatorship. I lived in Thailand for 4 years and I have some understanding of the politics and culture of Burma.
That being said, America cannot go around using force to solve all of the world's problems. It is logistically impossible, and dangerous; military power is a very blunt and violent tool, it is not omnipotent to handle any problem. Military force is often worse than the problem it is trying to solve (look at Iraq, Vietnam, some of the South American conflicts, etc.). The US's ability to do real humanitarian work, such as that required in Burma, has been greatly diminished by the strategic blunder of the Iraq war.
However, Bush did something that finally doesn't make the American people wince when he brought attention to the Burma situation during his speech at the UN. We hope that the world's leaders will begin to take some real action to help the people of Burma.

What is this, President Bush bashing week on Yahoo?
The Liberal Media does not cover the events in the Philippines, or even Mexico or Canada. Most Americans don't even know where Burma is. Of course, the Number One story of the Liberal Media is how stupid Bush is, what a traitor he is, etc. Give me a break!
As to the question you raised, the part that shows up, I checked and found the following website:
http://him.civiblog.org/blog/_archives/2007/6/20/3028784.html
It says that first Clinton, then Bush, is bearing down on the Military Junta reigning over Burma. It is because they are such dastardly people leading the country.

Over 500,000 people murdered in Iraq, thousands of Kurds murdered with chemical weapons in Iraq (this was shown on 60 minutes), teachers forced to turn school age children over to Saddam's sons for rape, Olympic teams torchured and murdered if they didn't win games, countless other crimes and the main stream media with the Democrat party bash Bush for ending this terrany. Can you blame him for not wanting to get involved in any other humanitarian endeavors?

You cannot help a government, that do not want help.
Next Step: China will send their troops in there, to take out the bad Generals in power
Will China, leave after the blood spill
Or will they open their road to the Indian ocean by staying there, making a Navy yard out of it?

Gee, how do you know about it if the press has not reported it?
All day long I've seen stories on the Yahoo home page about this place.
What freedoms have you lost? Are you living in Burma?

Funny, I saw it on the news last night, and it was on CNNs front page. Sounds like it's being covered.
And, as to why, America can't solve every problem in the world. It has to pick and choose. For every problem that it doesn't try to solve, someone like you will leap up to criticize it for shirking it's duty as the 'greatest freen nation on earth.' For ever problem that it does try to solve, OTOH, someone - quite possibly the same someone - will leap up to criticize it for it's 'imperialist ambitions.'

The news only reports what needs to be reported, and not report news like it should be reporting.
If Burma had oil fields then help would be on its way.
