I have been on the pill since the year 2000...in that time I have had to change it twice due to irregular bleeding. I am due to begin the next change to a pill called Yasmin. My doctor hopes that this will help with the bleeding and if not I should have a DnC done. My question is should I persist with constant pill changes or go off the pill altogether and let my body work itself out?

That is a question best answered by your doctor. But I can tell you from my exprience that your body does go through changes. I have been on the pill for about 15 years and have had to change about 3 times. I am on a lower does which still works for the cramping and bleeding I was having but doesn't make me nauseous. So everyone is different. Have you tried any time without the pill? Ask your doctor what she thinks of that idea, you can always go back on. (I know I was miserable not taking mine!) Good luck!
