I think it's more 'serioud'.
I'd much rather be on the road with a drunk driver than someone out-of-control moron on a cell phone. At least the drunk is trying to be careful because he knows he's in violation of the law.

Legally speaking, no, of course not. Texting is a brief or temporary distraction. When you are intoxicated, you are mentally impaired. Texting is not a safe action while driving, but is easily remedied by putting down the phone. You can focus as hard as you want on the road when intoxicated, but your motor skills, response time, and alertness are all dramatically decreased. There is nothing that can improve your condition if you are drunk except time.

Good question. I don't know if there are any specific laws (other than common sense) about texting while driving, but I believe it would be at least as dangerous as driving under the influence - perhaps even more so.

Equally wrong, in my opinion. Honestly, how much attention can you be paying to the road while typing away texts on your cell phone? Research found 90% of accidents are caused by drivers lack of attention. The few seconds you take to type that message could make you lose sight of something important on the wrong.

I don't think I need to even get into how bad it is to drive drunk. :)

It's not even against the law in most states currently. So no it's not as serious but it is careless and can be just as dangerous. Supermodel Nikki Taylor almost got killed because her driver was talking on a cell phone.

It is bad not not as bad I would have to sya because when your texting you can kinda like look at the screen then look ouside and kin of multi task and if you are about to hit someone you can have time to swerve out of the way

While your drunk you have almost no awareness of the world around you and you can easily get into accidents that can and often are fatal

Both activities show a disregard to the safety of other people on the road. What is so important to text that you can't wait until you are stopped?

Because you can always hang-up the phone you can't become sober that quickly. However, they don't usually hang-up.
