Okay, if your teacher is downright cruel, you need a grown-up's help.
But if your teacher just seems cranky and grumpy, try being a great student. Show up on time, sit straight and square in your seat, pay attention as s/he talks, take notes, ask a question every now and then, look interested, and don't start packing up your books & pencils until the class is officially over. (Or wait ... do you have this teacher all day, instead of having separate classes? Sorry, I don't know how your fifth grade works.)
Whatever you do ... DON'T TALK TO FRIENDS OR PASS NOTES DURING CLASS! This is very disrespectful. It drives teachers crazy.
Good luck.

Even though you are quite young, I suggest you just let it go. You're going to have to deal with many "mean" teachers and people that you don't like for the rest of your life.
Mediation may also help, though if the teacher is involved they may take offense that you would think they are mean.

Write down specific examples of how she is mean to you.
Tell your parents to talk to her about it.
If that doesn't work, you can go to something called "Mediation" with the teacher, the principal, and your parents.
