At least 4-5 times a week get terrifying nightmares that cause me to wake up in the middle of the night with my heart pumping fast and it takes me an hour to go back to sleep. I don't know why. There's nothing wrong with me. I'm in college and everything has been going great in my life, but I hate going to sleep at night because of these horrible nightmares. They range from falling off a cliff, being chased by a killer, and even being kidnapped by Chuckie the doll. Is there an explanation to this? I don't eat before I go to bed, so it can't be that. Thanks.

Stop watching scary movies. All your dreams seem to be based on them. Read 'Bambi'. No, wait, his mother gets killed.
Read um, well, no, not fairy tales (the children in the oven and trolls under the bridge) let me see, how about Alice in -no, that's not it-Wizard of-no...I can't think of anything you could do before bed except stare at the wall, that does not include some kind of inciting dream building facets. Crossword puzzles?
Oh, well, I don't know...get to like nightmares, I guess?
Good luck.

My feeling is that you must be worried about something. It could be one other thing. If you do not sleep with a nightlight on, get a nightlight and have a little light in your room hile you sleep. Researchers in sleep find that this solves many problems people have with night-terrors.

There is something deep in the recess of your mind you are't dealing with, something you haven't come to terms with, you need to ask yourself is there any areas of my life that isn't pleasant to talk about. Fights as a kid witnessing something bad. but you need to seek some counseling or see a hypnotist

Dreams like that can plague ambitious people. It can be a fear of failure, or a fear of succeeding.
