Happiness is a state of mind that is unique to all. I'm very happy and satified with my life. I have a good job, a cat and an apt, but to others, my life might be bleak, poor and boring, Some people crave wealth or family and won't be happy till they get it. It's an individual thing really.

Want and Desire are the other names of a Life. Mostly people are not happy or satisfied with their lives due to several reasons accordingly.
I have been happy and satisfied with my live many many times, but have also faced sorrows and tears, difficulties, ups and downs. And m really thankful to these grieves because of them I came to know and understand what happiness and satisfaction is !

Always thank for what ever little you have. If we make this thinking our habit then I think everyone would be happy or atleast satisfied with their lives.

Sometimes. I think when I am happy I don't notice it as much as when feeling depressed, however. I think pain leaves a deeper mark than pleasure. I might feel both emotions equally, but I notice the bad ones much more than I remember the good ones. Maybe that is what you are describing, too.

There have been times when I was really happy, and it usually included other people. Other than those times, and I have to say there were many fun times fishing, dining out, etc., I have generally been content. Sure, there have been rough times, been I hardly think of them, and some hard times are not thought of with bad feelings.

love the question. yes and no are my answers. i'm always pursuing happiness, but sometimes i'm not sure what i want that makes me happy. seems like whenever one of my "bright ideas" comes to light it just isn't as brilliant as i thought it would be. like everything in life i think we have to take everything in doses. too much can make you suffer or spoil the joy in something that should make you shine. balance i guess. that way our minds stay active and never grow dull.
