My best friend's husband has just broken up with her via text message! this is no joke! he didn't have the maturity or decency to walk the block to her parents house to tell her in person or even call and tell her verbally over the phone- he won't accept her calls either. they've been married for almost 4 years - and were married in the lds temple (ie. for time and all eternity). How can someone throw that away so easily? He's refused councelling and doesn't seem to want to do anything towards a reconcilliation. Do you have some advice or words of comfort for my friend?

Ok- also- my friend sat down with the bishop (church leader) and her husband was asked to come along and discuss their problems- he REFUSED!!! so my friend had to speak to the bishop alone.

being married in that temple doesnt mean anything as to his maturity. (ex latter day saint myself)

The only thing your friend can do is hold her head high after she's shed her tears and be prepared to move on to the next step of her life , file for divorce , file for half of what they both own and then spend 12 months finding herself emotionally , travel if she can and do things she wanted to do before the marriage , take some classes , make new friends and just learn to breath everyday.

Dont try getting him back thats just a wasted battle.

Wow! What a heartbreaker! Marie and Newwellness both contributed great answers as did several others. I can only recommend to be a good listener and let your friend know you're available whenever she needs moral support. The friend's husband has certainly gone around the bend and I cannot understand why. I'd give anything to be married to my wife in the temple, but cannot because she is Methodist. Help your friend in earnest prayer frequently. Now is the time she needs a strong friend and to increase her faith in the power of prayer.

thats just awful. Is there a minister(or whatever they are called) from the Ids Temple that can maybe talk to him. Maybe he needs an intervention from other members of the Temple.

Good luck to her

I don't know how comforting it is, but it seems to me like she's better off without him.

She can get a temple annulment, and find a GOOD man.

that is spineless...

he has done her A HUGE favor...

she can finally get away from this idiot while she still has the chance!

RUN dont walk...from this freak of nature...who has no respect for her or his priesthood...

Maybe he can't deal w/ it anymore & has found someone else. She is better off w/o someone so cruel as not to be able to break up w/ her in person anyway.

Storm his home and bring forth to him the verbal apocalypse of his life! That'd get him thinking, the jacka*s!

He wasn't the one for you. One day God will send you the right one. Just pray.
