A rose once grew where all could see,sheltered behind a garden wall.
And as days passed swiftly by it spread it's branches straight and tall.
One day a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened wide.
The rose bent gently toward it's warmth
then passed beyond to the other side.
Now you who deeply feel it's loss be comforted- the rose blooms there.
It's beauty even greater now, nurtured by God's own loving care.

FOREVER AUTUMN
(Music and Lyrics by the Moody Blues)

The summer sun is fading as the year grows old
And darker days are drawing near
The winter winds will be much colder
Now you're not here

I watch the birds fly south across the Autumn sky
And one by one they disappear
I wish that I was flying with them
Now you're not here

Like the sun through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on the breeze you blew away

Through Autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way
You always loved this time of year
Those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now
Cause you're not here

Like the sun through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on the breeze you blew away

A gentle rain falls softly on my weary eyes
As if to hide a lonely tear
My life will be forever Autumn
Cause you're not here
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is my personal favorite.
I am deeply sorry if you have lost someone, precious.
I pray that there will be peace.
HEAVEN’S DOOR
If I should go before you,
if life on earth were through;
I will stop just inside Heaven's door,
and there I will wait for you.
You have but to look across star filled skies
Past the moon and then beyond
To know my leaving could never break,
This heart's undying bond.
And if you should go before me,
If your journey on earth were through;
You know I will be close behind,
I will never be far from you.
Across the span of time and space,
This love will reach this far;
For you will always carry a bit of my heart,
No matter where you are.
We have no way of knowing who will remain,
Or who will go on before;
But if I should go first, you will find love there.
I will be waiting just inside Heaven's door.
This is poetry. From the heart:
So much has been written about loss.
But how does one say I'm sorry
for your loss?
How does one say I'm here for you
if you need comfort?
Grief is a step-by-step process.
May I pray for you during this time?
May I say to you, my thoughts are with you?
In your time of weakness, may God bless you with strength
to go on...
to be able to share your experience some day
with someone else
who may feel the same way
you do now.
God bless you with
courage.
I am
so so sorry... for your loss.
We know there's life beyond this earthy tabernacle
yet the pain is so surreal
Words seem hollow and empty
as we're told, "we know how you feel"
There's a void and desperation
at first we can't explain
Then comfort arrives and the unexplainable happens
as His strength overcomes our pain
In our weakness His strength is made perfect
though we miss them and do weep
If we believe Jesus died and rose again
We know, they are only asleep
Look up and be strong my friend
for the day is drawing near
When you will one day be united
with that one you hold so dear.
To be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord.
For poems I take the person's name and write words to make the poem....sometimes rhyming, sometimes not. But I pray for help and the words just flow. For example.....
C aught up in His love
A new day in Him
T o reach out to the dying
E ver sharing Him
So you have sorrow now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. John 16:22
SHE IS NOT GONE
SHE'S JUST AWAY.
I AM STANDING UPON THE SEASHORE. A SHIP AT MY SIDE SPREADS HER WHITE SAILS TO THE MORNING BREEZE AND STARTS FOR THE BLUE OCEAN. SHE IS AN OBJECT OF BEAUTY AND STRENGTH. I STAND AND WATCH HER UNTIL AT LENGTH SHE HANGS LIKE A WHITE CLOUD JUST WHERE THE SEA AND SKY COME TO MINGLE WITH EACH OTHER.
THEN SOMEONE AT MY SIDE SAYS: "THERE, SHE IS GONE!"
"GONE WHERE?"
GONE FROM MY SIGHT. THAT IS ALL. SHE IS JUST AS LARGE IN MAST AND HULL AND SPAR AS SHE WAS WHEN SHE LEFT MY SIDE AND SHE IS JUST AS ABLE TO BEAR HER LOAD OF LIVING FREIGHT TO HER DESTINED PORT.
HER DIMINISHED SIZE IS IN ME, NOT IN HER. AND JUST AT THE MOMENT WHEN SOMEONE AT MY SIDE SAYS: THERE, SHE IS GONE THERE ARE OTHER EYES WATCHING HER COMING, AND OTHER VOICES READY TO TAKE UP THE GLAD SHOUT:"HERE SHE COMES!"
AND THAT IS DYING.
