No, the General is entitled to believe whatever religion he wants even if it is one that disagrees with what you believe. Read the first amendment.

You can't change his religion but you can ask if someone like that is fit to hold a position of authority.He clearly isn't ready to treat them as equals.What he believes is his personal business but from the moment it influences his performance as a General that's a problem.
He should keep his views to himself.I think he's a Christian,there are other religions too.Does he tell them they are going to hell all the time because his religious convictions?I'm sure he doesn't.That shouldn't be different with gay people.
A Gay partner should be allowed to attend social events if married couples are allowed too.
Discrimination is wrong
