Or is it just more blah blah blah

the article:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070926/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush

the key quote:

"Mr. President, you've got strong friends here," Bush told Karzai after they met for about an hour at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel here. "I expect progress and you expect progress, and I appreciate the report you have given me today."

The two leaders made no direct mention of Afghanistan's soaring drug trade, the unsuccessful search for al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden or the resurgence of the Taliban.

I'm sure they didn't mention those things.

Overall, the experience of falling from a thousand foot tower goes pretty well, so long as you don't mention that last little thing at the bottom... don't you think?

Afghanistan is becoming less stable every day, as the Taliban slowly becomes resurgent. It is a sad commentary,
but all of our resources gave us a strong position, which in
time was bound to lose, just like the Soviets did before us.

Everyone!!!!! is biased. I tend to believe the troops on the ground more than any other. From the reports I hear they are making considerable progress except along the Pakistan border where taliban get safe haven.

Yup. Just another attempt to obscure the truth by a government that has absolutely no respect for it to begin with.
