First, do research. As with other STDs, I do think it's possible to contract herpes through other ways.
Second, tell your husband to get tested. If he's got it, chances are, he gave it to you.
I'm so sorry to hear, but good luck, and life will go on.

I was informed I had herpes and I wanted a second test done and a second opinion. It came back that I did not have herpes. So get tested again because they make mistakes all the time. You don't have to catch it from someone else, it can start with anyone. Or you can carry it and it never comes out for years. If you do find out you have it, read some books about it before thinking your husband cheated!

You women are viscous! Why are you telling her to have her husband tested and saying if he has it then he gave it to her? Maybe she screwed around on him and gave him it! Have you ever considered that? She says "I am deeply religious and would never forsake my vows!" and you all automaticaly jump on her side. Are you people aware that our prison systems are filled with "God loving people" who would never make anybody a victim ?
In your other questions you ask about your sisters case of herpies.Did your husband give her herpes as well or were you being unchristian-like and lying?
Womens attitudes toward men pisses me off. BTW to the person who asked the question, You have herpes and thats just nasty!

I'm so sorry for you, first of all, try to find out if there is another way to get that thing or it is just by sexual transmit ion , once you find that out you can make a decision you will know whether your husband cheated or not on you. if you find he cheated on you stop him! next time could be worse you know what I mean, now if you trust him very much there must be an explanation ask your doctor what could it be. good luck

Herpes like HIV can be in the system without you knowing it for 20 years. Has your husband been checked? Was he a virgin when you got married?

i'm no doctor and i'm too lazy to research this more....but my friend just went to the doctor because of a sore on his lip. the doc said that it's just a virus but that it's the same virus that causes herpes....it is not herpes on his lip though. but she says he needs to wash his hands before touching his "boyz" because he could spread the virus to those private parts and develop herpes.....so you need to ask more specific questions from your doc. my friend is pretty worried too.
