OKAY the first one

4 3/8 + 2 3/4
you gotta find the lowest common denominator. In this case its 8. so you gotta change 2 3/4 to 2 6/8.

so
4 3/8 + 2 6/8 = 6 9/8

you can reduce 6 9/8 .

8 goes into 9, one time. so you add that to the 6 which makes it 7. then you have remainder of 1 and that is the simplest form.

4 3/8+2 3/4 = 7 1/8

Question 1
4 3/8 + 2 6/8
6 9/8
6 + 1⅛
7 ⅛

Question 2
5 3/5 - 2 1/3
5 9/15 - 2 5/15
3 4/15

Question 3
13/3 x 5 = 65/3 = 21 2/3

First you have to change the denominators so that they have common denominators:
4&3/8 would stay the same
2&3/4 would change to 2&6/8
4&3/8 + 2&6/8=6&9/8 which would change to 7&1/8
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
5&3/5 would change to 5&9/15
2&1/3 would change to 2&5/15
5&9/15 - 2&5/15 = 3&4/15
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
For this one it would be best to change the numbers into an improper fraction like so:
4&1/3 would change to 13/3
5 would change to 5/1
When you multiply this you get 65/3 which would simplify to 21&2/3.

Hope this helps!!!!
