personally, i don't think it's important at all. why should somebody need experience? all they really need is good ideas. some candidates are being criticized or ridiculed for their lack of experience. why should that be important? doesn't government need a constantly revolving door of participants?

Ideas are good, a little experience in washington dc and how to handle it is good as well. thats why i'm voting for Ron Paul!

Experience is important because you want someone who's been through it before: tough decisions, knowing when to be an aggressor or be patient, dealing with politics, etc.

Good ideas are fine and dandy but you need at least some degree of experience to be able to lead effectively.
