...tour guides of the "Cell Factory". What could the ribosomes be? For example mine the mitochondria is the air conditioner room, because that's where the cellular respiration takes place, you see what I'm doing? And I also can't think of anything for the Endoplasmic Reticulum to be. I put the nucleus as the activity director, since it controls the activities of the cell. The golgi apparatus as the mail office. And so on...so, I need some ideas for the ribosomes, and the endoplasmic reticulum. Thanks!

Be sure you know exactly what each organelle does so you can give it the right job.

Cellular respiration is not the same thing as breathing. It's the process that gives the cell its energy. So you want to make the mitochondria be whatever supplies the factory with its energy. Maybe the factory makes its own energy with generators. Then the mitochondria are the generators.

The ribosomes make the proteins for the cell. You might let the ribosomes be the machines that make the parts that are going to be assembled in the factory. If it's a factory that makes cars, then the ribosomes are the machines that make the car parts.

The endoplasmic reticulum carries materials around in the cell while the materials are modified. In a factory, this can be the conveyor belt that goes along the assembly line. The conveyor belt moves parts along through the factory.

The mail room is a good idea for the Golgi apparatus if the factory is making something small that can be mailed out. Otherwise, the Golgi apparatus might be the place where the product is packaged into boxes to be shipped out.
