An old full size station wagon will take lots of punishment and you always want to back into people so a wagon is great because of the extra distance from the rear bumper to the tires. Weld in some reinforcing plates to the front and rear bumpers. Cut out the wheel openings so the tires don't get caught in the sheet metal. Some guys run 55 gallon drums (bolted and strapped down well) in the back seat area for cooling the car instead of a radiator to minimize front damage taking out the rad without any extra reinforcing. And put the battery inside front floor area too to keep it from getting smashed. Pad everything inside well 'cause you're gonna have some bone-jarring hits.
Have fun........

One of the old large luxury type cars, station wagons. Anything with alot of crush space.
Youre limited on strengthing mods due to rules - definitly one thing to do is to PROTECT the front end/radiator/ motor Use one of those large truck batteries for extra starting power. A trick most demo drivers use: on long trunks /rear ends of large cars - behind the rear axle - v cut the frame- so when it gets compacted - it folds up instead of down on the ground - for better smashing/wont drag on the ground. Im not sure if snowtires/studded wheel are allowed ( so y have traction). Use a heavy duty type tire that can withstand abuse.

Big old Lincolns are perfect. They have long hoods, are heavy and they are pretty near indestructible. Just remember to keep backing into your opponents, and try not to get hit in the grille which will take out your radiator. Good luck and have fun!

Make sure you remove the Fuel Pump cut off switch. It is located inside the trunk, behind the carpeting on the drivers side.
