A Nancy Drew book. Something about a mysterious letter. I've been told that it was the only bad one in the series but I was never able to read another after that one.

"The Givenchy Code" by Julie Kenner. The protagonist was a huge Mary Sue -- perfect at math, an eye for fashion, independent, surrounded by (and constantly having sex with) gorgeous guys despite the author's insistance that she wasn't good at relationships. It was just awful.

a recent sci-fi horror book which contained porno violence - as soon as I hit the first instance I showed my son - he bought it for me - he is a teacher by the way not a kiddie - he was horrified and threw it away - I wish we had classification labels on books as it does spoil reading so much!
