My paper is based on the book The History Of Mary Prince. Mary Prince was born into slavery in the Carribean. My paper is an analysis of this book. Here is my idea for a thesis, please give ANY suggestions. Thank you.

The History of Mary Prince led me to the idea that early European peoples, who came to the New World, felt the need to be in control. One of the ways this need for control was displayed was by slavery, the brutal treatment of the slaves, how the Europeans worked the slaves till near death, if not beyond that point, and finally the way white women treated the slaves.

To get an A in this class the thesis needs to be: clear, easy to understand and insightful.

Oh and for the white women. I will also make it a point to say that since white women had such little control over their own lives...they felt the need to control the slaves lives.

You are missing a key point. Slaves were viewed as chattel like cattle or horses, not so much as humans.
The early Eurpoeans where if many cases noblemen who received large land grants and needed the slaves to work the land like they needed horses and cows. It was not so much as the need to be control as it was using them as tools to get the work done.

As far as the way white women treated slaves in that period of time. They were not much more than slaves themselves. Usually had no say in who they married they could not file for divorce. Their husbands could legally beat them at well with few restrictions.
That is where the saying, "rule of thumb," comes from. One of the few restrictions was that you could not beat your wife with a stick any larger than your largest finger which was the thumb.

Perhaps just some grammatical changes need to be made.
One of the ways this need for control was displayed was by slavery; the brutal treatment of the slaves, how the Europeans worked the slaves until near death, if not beyond that point, and finally the way slaves were treated by white women.

You say "one of the ways this need for control was displayed was by slavery" then go on and list other ways but you only say one at the beginning. Maybe change it to this: The history of Mary Prince led me to the idea that early European peoples, who came to the New World, felt the need to be in control. These needs were displayed in many ways. Slavery was a big issue. With slavery can very brutal treatment and white woman treating the slaves bad. That is not perfect but a suggestion. Otherwise urs is great. Good Luck!
