I think it is a beautiful name!
I bet your son will feel very special having such a special name with a great meaning.
Now when you see your son each time you have a reason to smile because these two wonderful people who have passed over are with him guiding him through life!

I like both names, but I wanted to put my two cents. The meanings behind both names are very cool, and I like both of them.
I went to school with a kid named Maverick. Everyone called him "Goose" because of Top Gun, or "Mav" at best. He hated it. Another thought is that Maverick can be used as an adjective, and Hunter is also a noun, so Maverick Hunter sounds like a description on a novel.
While it's your choice, I would personally consider switching it around to Hunter Maverick.
I'm sorry about your uncle, and congrats on the son!

I really like that you chose a name with meaning to you and a name that suits your style as well. I think Maverick is cute, and would be awesome shortened down to Ricky when he's a kid :) Hunter is a guilty pleasure of mine, also.
Good luck!

It's a giant name for a little baby :), but I do like it, very masculine and you can get very creative with the nicknames. Good luck with the birth of Maverick Hunter and hope all goes well :)

I LOVE the middle name Hunter. Maverick is different, but it's cool. :) It's great that you are honoring your Uncle. I'm sorry that he died. Congratulations on your baby! God Bless!

I think it's stupid. Maverick is a word, not a name, and it doesn't have a particularly nice meaning. Why do that to a child? If you want to honor his grandmother, you could simply call him Rick.

i would reverse them, Hunter Maverick, personally. Maverick Hunter sounds like an anime character's name oddly translated from Japanese.
