Welcome to the USA.
I'm medically retired and have a lot of time on my hands. Enjoy it while you can. You can get a lot of satisfaction from homechores and doing things to improve your living space.
I spend an equal amount of time reading the news on the internet, watching television, doing household chores and in general trying to keep busy. Good luck.

There are many things you will have to adjust to here, your life is so different from your home no doubt. But it's not your fault that you can't work until your papers come through, so please don't blame yourself. My wife got her work permit in 3 months so I hope you won't have to wait too long.
