I think she knew it but just didn't care. Everything about her went wrong that night. She had only half-completed hair extensions (she had fired her hairdresser), and put on an unflattering black bikini even though others around her had warned her not to do it. She was wearing a pair of boots she thought would make her legs look slimmer but she couldn't walk in them. She didn't even try to lip-synch properly. I can't help but wonder if this was a way for her to get even with the show organizers for putting so much pressure on her to perform that night even though she wasn't ready.

I wondered the same thing and it seems like she thought she looked fierce at first. Rumor has it that she was suppoossed to wear a corset top, not that bra. The wardobe change was her choice and her people advised against it.
I also read that after the trainwreck performance she was overheard crying and saying she looked like a pig!!
Anyhow it was horrible. The clothes sucked. The song was crappy. Her lip sync bombed. Her dancing was embarrassing.

1) You put this ? in the wrong spot
2) Britney's performance wasn't the bad at all
3) She didn't look fat like everybody said
4) She is going through stuff and ppl need to let her deal on her own
5) Normal people in everyday life have the same s#!t going on we just don't got cameras in our faces 24\7 365

In my opinion (and I don't think about it too much), she'd gotten so much flack before the show that she was being a pouty little girl, just phoning it in.
