Two glucose molecules bind together to make one maltose molecule. Glucose is a monosaccaride (one building block of carbohydrate by itself). Maltose is a disaccharide (two building blocks of carbohydrate stuck together). If you take maltose apart into two molecules, they will be two molecules of glucose.
