It's a culture thing. It isn't like that in more primitive times and third world places today. Of course their primary function is to feed offspring after reproduction, but because humans are so complicated sexually there's a lot of angles to take. Was that a subliminal pun? Not sure....
I guess man (and woman) decided that breasts were functional art, and have carried the value/protection that goes with viewing them down the evolutionary chain.

Some men shouldn't. Once,I actually offered to pay a guy at the beach to put a shirt on. He was offended. I told him that his man-boobs were offending me

im sure this question has been asked many times throughout humanities existence and there is a logical sane explanation. I think it's because we have lost touch (no pun intended) with ourselves and have reduced ourselves to just objects,pieces of meat that we either want/don't want. over time we have been covering them up making them seem taboo but if you think about it,its really society's fault THEY say its not right to show them but it's in our nature to be nude.
