These are the men and women I have in common. Superman, Shazam, Batman,Dr.Fate,Dr.Strange,Zatanna,Reed Richards all got together because of a threat that happened to pull them into DC and Marvel. Who would take lead of the team?Superman and Shazam are both over grown boy scouts. Batman answer to Batman just like Fate and Strange. Reed has his head in acdemia. Dont know that much about Zatanna.

Of those that you listed I'd say for the DC Heroes.... that Either Batman or Superman would be leaders... For Marvel Dr. Strange isnt exactly a field leader....
Batman while he doesnt answer to a higher power is probably one of the greatest deductive minds of the DC universe....
Superman and Captain Marvel (Shazam) while being boy scouts carry alot of respect and tend to lead by entering the room. The Same with Captain America.
Dr Strange and Reed Richards are both equally qualified to lead teams and have done so in the past...
Dr. Fate is a character that you have wrong though.... Dr. Fate is answerable to another... The Lord of Order Nabu. I can't remember who Dr. Strange is answerable to... I believe it is either the cosmic Being Eternity or Infinity, but the majority of his powers comes granted by the artifacts he has as well his relationship with the cosmic powers he invokes... so he tries to stay on good side of the "Good" powers of the universe that he has to invoke.
When it comes down to it... Brains is what it takes to lead a team and all those you mentioned have it... well brains and drive ... Zatanna being only a part time hero/adventurer doesnt have the drive of the others...
When heroes gather its as often or not the respect that the heroes carry that determines the leaders... Superman, Batman,Captain Marvel (Shazam) Dr. Fate, Dr. Strange, Zatanna and Reed Richards all carry different levels of respect from their peers.
Superman And Batman are probably the two most respected heroes of the DC universe because of what they represent... Superman represents the All things American... While Batman he is a mere human that has maintained his place amongst a team of superhumans by dedication and drive... He maintains the pinnacle of human physical ability as well. If you ask me thats alot to respect.
Reed Richards and Dr. Strange are amongst the most respected heroes in DC... I'd have to Say the Most respected one was Captain America.

I think Zatanna might make a good leader, because she has her head on right and the others all know that. It would be better for her to be the leader than for the rest of them to fight over it. And she looks hot in her fishnets. Just because she is not a scientist doesn't mean she doesn't have brains! She is very smart.
