is it natural to be pregnant with a baby bigger than 12 lbs? my girlfriend is. Has this happened to anyone else? how big?

My friend was 13 pounds when he was born. He was the third baby and his mom had kind of big babies before, 9 lbs, then 10 lbs then him. She had him naturally... No she didnt have diabetes either And whoever said it's not natural, yes it is. Some babies are just big. If it wasn't natural then the doctor would have said something.

no it's not natural, does she have diabetes? My largest baby was 10lbs 2ozs. How does she know the baby is 12lbs? If that's the amount she gained then it is not even close to the size of the baby, if it was said during an u/s then hopefully they're off by a couple of lbs which does happen. GL

I have never heard of a baby bigger than 12 pounds. Wow! I was born at 8 pounds and 1 ounce. You should talk to your obsetrician about that.

its rare but it happens my grandmother weighed 21 pounds at birth and was born naturally no drugs from a 4 ft 8 inch tall woman
