Apparently he's got one year left on his contract. Yahoo says Matt Kemp and a left handed prospect. I say throw in Kemp's good friend Jeff Kent.

Santana's WHIP is 1.09 for his CAREER. This is better/equivalent to Clemens, Maddux, Koufax and other first ballot HOFers.

Dodger Stadium is a pitcher's ball park. Get Santana.

Regarding "renting" Santana, LAD would have to sign him to six years, probably at 20M per.

Regarding the left handed prospect being as good as Santana, I betcha that for every 100 "can't miss" prospects, 2 or 3 are a #1 pitcher. So go with the trade. Santana is HOF.

Also, Kemp is good, very good. But he's a second year player and still unproven. He ain't no Mauer or Cano or the 3B for the Marlins.

I'd most definately rather have Kemp and Kershaw (the left handed prospect you were talking about) then Santana. First of all, both will cost a whole lot cheaper than Santana -- Kershaw should be close to as good as Santana if not better and adding Kemp is a bit much. Kemp should be a solid OF. I'd like that deal if I were the Twins!

Santana is a great pitcher but kershaw has the potential to be a great pitcher too and would be a waste to let him go for a rental player and Kemp is a good power bat that has great promise so no its just another rumor

It doesn't make sense. This would solve one small problem and create a bigger one. Yeah you get a good pitcher, BUT who plays right field. The Dodgers would then have to sign a right fielder, which would take money away from trying to get a new third basemen.

EDIT: They need a power bat!! Not more pitching!

I say get rid of the whining Kent. He started all the troubles in the club house. Trade Furcal or Pierre or Garciaparra.

Bummer for the NL West. I hope the Padres can come in and steal this. (not likely.) Peavy and Santana, in Petco, DOMINATION.

Can you show us a link for the story?
