One of my friends told me that the effectiveness of the pill decreases 25% for each year you use it. Is it true?

Not true.

If you are under 25 years, your body is still developing so you may need to change pills to keep up with the changes in your body, but after that, the same pill will be just fine for many years.

But , you may be more at risk of side affects of the pill, if you are on it for many many years.
