It bothers me precisely as much as the attacks on Kerry, Murtha, and Cleland bothered me.

Could it be it is it is, it's a strawman argument what a surprise. the DNC and Moveon.ORG may both be liberal groups, but are still very different things. The Democratic party still stands for the troops, but the constitution comes first and the freedom of the press there in. Not voting for that BS in the Senate should be viewed as a positive, because it isn't the senates job to try and weasel the citizens of this country into not using their rights in speaking out against any person or thing we disagree with.

Conservative or Liberal--It's not about that, It's about our Freedom of Speech, even for the media-you are very naive to think this war is only about your freedom. Gen. Petraeus is an honorable man until he signed on with the current administration--he is also a public figure and therefore open to scrutiny. I'm sorry if you're having a hard time sleeping, however, gather all the facts before making a statement.

And what exactly do democrats stand for? the fact that they do not accept the way this war was started or the way it is being handled makes them anti American? the fact that they want to see our troops back safe and sound makes them anti American?
Mind you I am not a democrat but i can tell you this, I am today feeling more secure and a feeling that i am being heard by the democratic party more than by the republican party who simply seems to do whatever it wants regardless of the nations voice.
I think it is time that we all as a nation accept the fact that this war is a fiasco and it is time that our kids starts coming back. it is time that Iraqis start defending their own land, hell it is their land right? We NEED to have the support on the ground of other nations we simply CANNOT continue this war as it is done today. It is a "mission Impossible". Lets not screw up more than we already did. And for Republicans in senate to disagree with plans just because they are from democrats ... please ,,, leave the politics in the bags and lets be reasonable and smart for once. i tell you it wouldn't hurt.

you have have been given to be friggin' kidding! For years Republicans and their mouthpieces in the media have used further and further outrageous rhetoric on Democrats. Any Ann Coulter column has extra insulting stuff than 'usual Betray Us'. Rush Limbaugh says worse issues every day! it incredibly is basically yet another occasion of neo-con double usual. There are an entire checklist of 'crimes' that are in basic terms incorrect while Democrats do them. have been you outraged while Republican senators suggested Al Gore claimed to have 'invented' the internet? have been you outraged on the speedy Boat Liars smears against John Kerry? Or the outrageously irresponsible expenses that bill Clinton committed homicide, treason, drug-dealing and rape--expenses repeated lower back and lower back long as quickly as they have been discredited? Why do you immediately get outraged while somebody on the left does what the wonderful has accomplished so nicely and expertly for see you later?

You really need to seek some help if you are losing sleep over this. Don't you realize that those who ran the ad are using their rights? Yes the General served to defend those rights. It is given to EVERYONE in this country not just the select few, not just to those who say nothing bad or controversial etc. I revert back to that old saying. " I may not agree with what you say but, I defend your right to say it ". Think about it. Words are just that, words. Only you can give them power. For me it is much more preferable to let someone espouse their views on a street corner, even if I disagree then to dictate what can or can not be said. Or use force to settle a disagreement. Is any of this making sense to you? And one last thought. It is a known fact that when some politicians were voicing dissent on invading Iraq, Republicans outright called these dissenters "terrorists". Was that right? Or were the Republicans just voicing their right to free speech much like Move On?

Did you read the ad? I didn't. I only know the title read "general patraus (if that's how you spell his name), or general betray us?"
The sad fact is that many people within the defense department both civilian and military are really cooking the books in order to give the President what he wants, so I have to say that maybe the ad was a justified reaction. I don't think they were accusing him but simply posing a question. Again, I didn't read the ad though.

It is people like you that has let corruption be the norm in our government. I am not calling you stupid, just totally ignorant;
believing what you hear. Perhaps it is not too late for independent thinking. That is the only way to find truth. Our media no longer has freedom of the press. They are part of huge conglomerates that do not seek truth, but profits and the "dumbing down of America. wake up

Actually no...I am offended by the weak will nature of the Democrats and the Republican's hypocrisy.
Al I see from the right is that they can dish it out..but they cannot take it. They say they support the troops...but ask them if they will give up a tax cut to increase the troops wages and you get a punch in the mouth, they say they believe in America but freely accept invasions of privacy and the loss of habeas corpus with a big smile because as anyone can tell you the best way to defend freedom+liberty is to become a police state.
Why did Bush need to shill a general out...it is Bush's job to go to Congress and talk about the progress...but no one trusts him so he uses the military for political use...and the right is perfectly ok with the spitting upon the military's honor that is...but don't you dare disagree with a general...even though there are just as many generals who are as qualified or better qualified who say Patreaus is wrong.
This 1 way street America offends me. I can say what I want, but if you oppose my thoughts then I will say you are offending the troops, not being patriotic, accusing me of lying.
This weak pansy America where people piss+moan about stupid crap like this offends me. It is people like YOU that keep the move on in the news and keep their statement alive because you bring it up every 3 seconds..........just like we had to broadcast the "vulgarity" of Janet Jackson's malfunction every 5mins on the news and while it played in backround talk about how it was inappropiate for TV.
Democrats make me sick with their whiny, cries of Kumbaya and inability to DO anything even when they have a majority in Congress
Republicans make me sick with their end justifies the means mentality which is why the Constitution can be ignored, the lack of respect for a military by using it to hawk a message that the military is not united in believing
Both make me sick with this if anyone disagrees with me I will accuse them of being the most vile terrorist known to the Earth mentality that they have brought about in America which keeps us divided.
People are arguing over this BS issue which is NOT an issue and meanwhile we sit by like retards and lose our Habeas Corpus and right to privacy (I blame BOTH right+left for that treason) which is spitting upon every soldier who has fought+died for America since the Revolutionary War........America needs to get it's ING priorities straight
If you lose sleep over a bunch of retards airing something you disagree with....then, no offense, it's game over man...you have lost all ability to cope with the real world...you have regressed to the 3rd grade...or you need to get laid BIG TIME
Honestly every day the news is just more and more proof why we need Jupiter to crash into the Earth and cleanse the taint of humanity from the universe.

That man is fighting for what Bush wants...not protecting his men and certainly not fighting for American's freedoms!
You may want to learn what the precious neo-cons (Not REAL conservatives by far) are planning to do with the help from liberals.

Not anymore than I am about the shameless swift boat smear campaign on another decorated veteran.
Or the campaigner against Mc Cain saying that he was not a good POW or something of that nature.
Grow up. Both sides are guilty of smear tactics.
