Yea. What's up with the last 26 seconds? It's like this snippet of some voice playing over and over again. I recorded it and reversed it to see if it was some backwards message but I didn't find anything.

It was rumored by an Illonois student to be a clue in Paul's death.

About a lucky man who made the grade-died
The news was rather sad Iwell I just had to laygh I saw the Photograph
Nobody was even sure if he was from the house of Lords

In Glass onion John says Heres another Clue for you all the Walrus was Paul

In How do you sleep. Them freaks was right when they said you was dead

And then there are photo comparisons and the fact that Paul a lefty Bassist never played the Bass again

The sounds are supposed to simulate a car accident.

Back then we needed something to talk about and contrary to popular belief we never blamed Yoko Ono for breaking up the Beatles It was Paul

Turn me on Dead Man (off some song played backward)

It was on the run out groove on the record, and would just repeat over and over until someone took the needle off. When CDs came about there was no way to create a similar effect, so they tacked it on at the end repeating a few times. I think it was just to mess with people who were listening to the record and didn't get up to change it. According to John Lennon there is a high pitched whistle that most humans cant hear in the noise, designed to drive the listener's dog crazy.

What I've read in books is that those last 26 seconds is just random "beatle chatter" cut up into snippets and added together at random.

In the record, it would repeat infinitely. However, on the CD it just goes for a couple seconds. It usually isn't considered part of the song A Day In the Life, just part of the album.

Oh, and I can hear that noise that only dogs can hear supposedly. :)

Yeah I heard the same thing whenever I listen to that song. It kind of sounds like "Never to se any other way" "Never to se any other way" "Never to se any other way" "Never to se any other way" "Never to se any other way" "Never to se any other way" "Never to se any other way" "Never to se any other way" "Never to se any other way" Etc....

Good Question, though. Listen carefully next time you listen to it, and see what you hear.

I read the news today oh, boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well, I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure
if he was from the House of Lords

I saw a film today oh, boy
The English army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book
I love to turn you on.

[A Day In The Life lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

Woke up, got out of bed
dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
and looking up, I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
Somebody spoke and I went into a dream
Ah

I read the news today oh, boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes
it takes to fill the Albert Hall
I'd love to turn you on

It's a loop of someone (I think John) saying "Never to see any other way." Not sure what it means exactly but I do know that it used to creep me out if I would fall asleep listening to my Sgt. Pepper album and that part would always wake me up at the end.

The members of the Beatles said it was just gibberish they did for fun, but I've heard that if you play it backways, it says "Will Paul be back as Superman?" but I never tried, and it's just a rumor.

"Never could be any other way" is what I think they are saying.
