The Speaker, as presiding officer, is the principal arbiter of the rules and is assisted by the House parliamentarian, who is an appointed official. A majority of the members may overrule the Speaker's interpretations or applications of the procedural rules. That would be Nancy Pelosi.

is the Senator who presides over the United States Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.

There is no actual office of "Presiding Officer". Whoever is presiding at the time is the Presiding Officer. This can be the President of the Senate (the Vice President of the United States), the President Pro Tempore, or someone designated by the President Pro Tempore. Typically, a junior senator of the majority party presides.

Now, do I get your "A"? Good luck.

2. The presiding officer of the H.o.R. is Bangalore the Chimpanzee.

3. The current 2 presiding officers of the Senate are that one guy and then - oh - whatshisname. You know. The one on TV all the time.

1. Since it is after 5 in DC now, I would guess that some left to eat and are not currently in the House. That seems overly literal; do not use that answer on your homework.
2. Probably the Speaker of the House (look up the name on the Internet)
3. Probably the Vice President (Dick Cheney) and the President Pro Tempore (not sure of the spelling) of the Senate (look up the name on the Internet)
