The instructions for my new laminate floor says to leave a space around the perimeter of the room and cover it with quarter round.
The only problem is that on one side of the sunken living room there are brick steps. So how can I attach the quarter round to that? I was thinking some kind of glue.

I'd go with using a sparingly amount of liquid nail

The instructions were correct certainly.

I use liquid nails by the case, and YES IT WILL WORK, and comes in a variety for specific applications.

One thing many people MIGHT NOT DO is READ the instructions on the tube. Liquid nails is/can be essentially CONTACT CEMENT. The instructions clearly state apply the adhesive press the glued surface to the surface you want to Stick it to then pull it away, allowing TAC time, then press it back.

I put quarter round on my oak steps--didn't want to use nails and make marks on the trim, so I used a silicone product--Liquid nail is way to messy. I also used this product when we put the trim down for our tile and laminate floors. Don't use to much, you don't want it squeezing out when you press it in place and showing on your brick.

Two options, fulling the gap with matching silicone or use a square molding on the brick steps.

I install a lot of laminate and run into that problem a lot..........
there really is not a good fix it for that problem lot of times I will try liquid nail or contact cement and pray it works.......
one possibility that looks ok is to go buy some"cove base"....
it comes mostly in 4 foot widths and you buy cove base glue and it sicks to the bricks pretty well..............
try lowes or h/d or flooring store and they should have it...........comes in all different colors also.....................

Buy a small squeezetube of silicone caulk. Just apply a few dabs and it will stick to the brick.
