Got a question. What does someone do to get a new friend circle going? I live in Northern Utah. I no longer work due to my disability. I enjoy gardening, birding, cooking, knitting, playing chess and other game boards. So how does some one go about? Any ideas especially for the winter time. As i am too hurten to go anywhere in the cold. Thanks.

This might sound crazy but can you afford to hire someone to come into your home and help out around the house? I did that and made a great friend and through her I made some other friends. If it weren't for her I think I'd go crazy with loneliness. Plus as you can tell I sit here and type on the computer trying to help others instead of thinking about me.

there are tons of yahoo groups on every subject. You can make a bunch of online friends with common interests that way. Sometimes someone will live nearby and you can get together! Get involved with your community by joining a book club, or start a game night. If you host it, then you don't have to worry about going out! Good luck, I wish I lived close enough to play some pictionary or something.
